GHE/T.A. – PH DOWN
Terra Aquatica pH Down is used to reduce the pH value of “hard” water, as most plants require optimal acidity for nutrient uptake.
However, tap water in many countries is often unstable in this regard. In most cases, the water is too “hard” (high pH mark, a lot of limescale is formed), which requires manual lowering of the pH value (the water is “acidified”).
In addition to simple acids, this pH Down also contains a mixture of organic buffer substances, which means that the pH is maintained in the long term and the calcium content is reduced.
Higher acidity facilitates the absorption of cations and lower acidity facilitates the absorption of anions: each pH level has its own benefits.
The safest recommended average value is 5.5 to 6.5.
pH down uses nitric and phosphoric acids to stabilize the pH of your water. A mix of the two doesn’t mean messing up your N/K ratios throughout the cycle. With its unique properties, organic citric acid works to stabilize pH changes over time.
Caution: Always wear appropriate protection when working with strong acids.
To lower pH: Add to water or nutrient solution. Check the pH again and adjust if necessary.
